Summer

So the weather is crazy, it feels like February.

I like June, it is the end of a school year, have to say bye to some students, some I will see at summer school, some not till next year, and some Wednesday will be the last then say Hello to summer. Then I will have a few days off. Those few days are already packed. I will go visit my BFF and her boys and her new baby girl, I will spend the night then off to a bridal shower for a friend, then pack because Sunday I will leave after first servise for a girls trip to Reno till thursday. then back to work. Summer school is fun 4 days a week and I get off by 12:45.

Also Volleyball starts, I love this ministry.

The lyrics to the song I promised

Where I Belong By: Building 429

Sometimes it feels like im watching from the outside Sometimes it feels like im breathing but am I alive I will keep searching for answers that aren't here to find

All i know is I'm not home yet this is not where I belong take this world and give me Jesus this is not where I belong

So when the walls come falling down on me and when im lost in the current of a raging sea i have this blessed assurance holding me.

All i know is I'm not home yet this is not where I belong take this world and give me Jesus this is not where I belong

When the earth shakes i wanna be found in you when the lights fade i wanna be found in you

All i know is I'm not home yet this is not where I belong take this world and give me Jesus this is not where I belong x2

Another song I like

CASTING CROWNS   GLORIOUS DAY (LIVING HE LOVED ME)

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One bringing
My Savior Jesus is mine

A Song that has alot of meaning to me right now

First of all sorry I havent posted for a while, Kind of forgot about blogging and well just plain got busy.

This song I heard at a Building 429 concert the weekend after a friend lost her son to cancer. He was only 4 years older then me but fought a good fight leaving behind his 4 precious young children and a wonderful wife. with my pastor speaking of his death and his last hour with his wife that morning then at the memorial service his last words to his wife was "I want to go home" those words really stuck to me, as a reminder that this world is not my home and my friend is home now. what a beautiful reminder. So now as you read the lyrics you will see why this song will always remind me of my friend and keep my focus on my true home.

Right now I will just quote the chorus. (Because I cant find the lyrics yet)
Title: Where I Belong

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

Song

This is a song that has encouraged me and so I thought I would share. It is by Casting Crowns.

If you asked me to leap out of my boat on the crashing waves
And if you asked me to go preach to a lost world of Jesus save
I'll go but I cannot go alone cause I know I'm nothing on my own
But the power of Christ in me makes me strong
Makes me strong
Cause when I'm weak He makes me strong
When I'm blind He shines His light on me
Cause I'll never get by livin on my own abilities
Cause when I'm weak He makes me strong
When I'm blind He shines His light on me
Cause I'll never get by livin on my own abilities
But by the power of Christ in me
If you asked me to run carry your life to the fallen land
If you asked me to fight deliver your people from Satan's hand
I'll go but I cannot go alone cause I know I'm nothing on my own
But the power of Christ in me makes me strong
Makes me strong
Cause when I'm weak He makes me strong
When I'm blind He shines His light on me
Cause I'll never get by livin on my own abilities
Cause when I'm weak He makes me strong
When I'm blind He shines His light on me
Cause I'll never get by livin on my own abilities
No I'll never get by livin on my own abilities
No I'll never get by livin on my own abilities

Happy Valentines day

For God so loVed the world, That He GAve His onLy BegottEn SoN That whosoever Believeth In Him Should Not perish, But have Everlasting life."

My newest fundraising letter

This past year I walked the Susan G Korman 3-day Breast Cancer walk. It was a great experience. Even though I started the walk not knowing anyone I met a lot of wonderful people. I met survivors, ladies who are fighting the cancer (one who was diagnosed a week before the walk, another who had a chemo treatment a few days before the walk), people who lost some one, and some who just wanted to help a good cause. I walked a total of 40 miles. I was not able to walk the full 60 miles due to spraining my ankle a week and a half before the walk. During the walk I wore buttons with the names of the people I walked for. I was soon known as either ankle girl or button girl. I raised $2518 for this cause. I praise God for this great experience and everyone I met, and everyone who helped either with prayers, training, and encouragement when I was ready to give up, or with raising the money.
So since I had a great experience, my blisters are healed, muscles are not sore, and since it will be a week before my 30th birthday I thought what better way to celebrate then to walk 60 miles. So I will train and walk, I am asking if you would donate to help me reach my goal of $2300. Also if you would like me to walk with someone's name please email me at susanamoritz@gmail.com. If you have any questions or would like more infomation or what updates on my progress please let me know.

First Chirstmas song I heard this year

This is a Taylor Swift song that I like and just discovered, it is a country song but I like the words. So I thought I would share

Christmas Must Be Something More

What if ribbons and bows didn't mean a thing
Would the song still survive without five golden rings
Would you still wanna kiss without mistletoe
What would happen if God never let it snow
What would happen if Christmas carols told a lie
Tell me what would you find

You'd see that today holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

What if angels did not pay attention to
All the things that we wished they would always do
What if happiness came in a cardboard box
Then I think there is something we all forgot
What would happen if presents all went away
Tell me what would you find

You'd see that today holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the birthday boy who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
So here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something more

We get so caught up in all of it
Business and relationships
Hundred mile an hour lives
And it's this time of year
And everybody's here
It seems the last thing on your mind

Is that the day holds something special
something holy, not superficial
So here's to Jesus Christ who saved our lives
It's something we all try to ignore
And put a wreath up on your door
But here's something you should know that is for sure
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something
Christmas must be something more

There's gotta be more
There's gotta be more

three trees

THREE TREESonce there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, 'Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty.'Then the second tree said, 'Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take Kings and Queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull. Finally the third tree said, 'I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me.'After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, 'This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a Carpenter, 'and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest. At the second tree the woodsman said, 'This looks like a strong tree. I should be able to sell it to the shipyard.' The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, 'I don't need anything special from my tree, I'll take this one,' and he cut it down. When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for.The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.The third tree was cut into large pieces, and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and Said 'Peace' and t he storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat. Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, God will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His Ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

It has been a while

So.... I got back from La, and started school. The first day of school I sprained my ankle... I then healed up enough so that I can do my walk, only by God's grace was I still able to walk the walk. The walk was FUN, but hurt. The first day of the walk Tammy drove me to the Cow Palace for the opening ceremonies. After the opening ceremonies we walked from the Cow Palace to Krissy Fields, where camp was going to be. On the walk I saw many people dressed up in pink, actually men too. There were LONG lines for the Porto potties. We had many wonderful volunteers giving us as much water, Gatorade, and food that we could ever need. Also volunteers who crossed us at the street crossings, drove vans to pick up those of us who needed to give our feet a rest till the next pit stop. the first day i made it all the way to lunch then took the SAG bus to camp. At camp we set up the tents and decorated them. By the ways I won best tent decoration for my section. I then met the first aide people who helped my ankle and blisters from the first day. then we had dinner and karaoke. then lights out by 9:00. i think I was out by 8:30. The second day, we started at Krissy fields and went across the Golden Gate bridge. where I found Nelson and Cy ready to cheer me on. God really knew I needed that, I was ready to quit, but by them there it reminded me of why I was walking and that I have people supporting me. I thank God for His perfect timing. I walked though the small towns, took the sweep vans to pit stops and came back over the Golden Gate Bridge to camp at Krissy fields. for more first aid attention, dinner, entertainment and what I wanted most SLEEP. On the 3rd day we started at camp and went to the marina green, I did take the sweep vans a couple of time but was able to cross the finish line. I walked a total of 40 miles of the 60 miles. During the 3 days I meant a lot of wonderful people I meant survivors, relatives, other Christians, and I meant someone who was just diagnosed 2 weeks before this walk. I meant some one who had chemo 4 days before the walk. Wow some of these ladies and men are amazing. My sister picked me up and took me to Olive Garden for dinner. I now know what they meant by these walks being addicting I am already signed up to walk the next walk October 2-4, 2009. Here is my link for the next one http://www.the3day.org/goto/SusanMoritz. The week after my feet hurt from the blisters. I have also had a wonderful birthday. My co workers took me to lunch. I went for a walk and had dinner with some friends then had people over to my house for cake and ice cream. I got a lot of nice presents but what I thank God most for is the friends God has blessed me with. one of my goals for this year is to be better about posting stuff here.

My Vacation in La So far

So far it is going well. Last week I went to my sisters church, it is smaller then CBC. Kathy and I hung out around the house for the most part we did go to a BBQ for one of James's friends. on Thursday we went to Disneyland. That was a lot of fun. I have pics that I will post as soon as I can. On Saturday my Sister in Law Michelle picked me up and we went to her sisters house and swam. I got sunburned, what a surprise j/k. That was fun. Sunday Michelle and I walked 3 miles. Yesterday we went to the dollar movie and saw What Happens in Vegas, it was a good movie. Then we went to one of my nieces soccer practice. Michelle and I walked around the field. Today we are going to a beach, tomorrow Universal and the only other thing I know I am doing is going to Disneyland again on Monday.

As far as the walk goes, I am walking when ever possible, and going to the gym when ever I can. Fundraising is going OK I am at 45% of what I need to raise. I am having a fundraiser night Aug 23 at 6:00 at my house. My friend sells Gold Canyon Candles and is going to donate all proceeds to my walk. I will also have a raffle, and some jewelery (That my Sister in Law sells) for sell. Fundraiseing update

I've been spending the past few months preparing for the event and have really made a lot of progress.
So far I've raised $742 towards my goal of $2200! Thanks to those of all of you who have donated!
My training is also going well. I've walked 45 miles in the last month. I can hardly wait to hit the route with the thousands of other women and men who are joining together for this common cause.
With only 53 more days till the event, there is still time for you to support my efforts with a donation. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
Also with only 53 more days I have less time to train. If anyone wants to help me train by going on walk please let me know when. I am going to need to get a lot of walking in.
Just in case you do not know why I am walking it is for one of my sisters who is a survivor. She had breast cancer at the age of 17. Also walking for others including co-workers and family members of some of my friends. For the walk I am going to make pink ribbons and put the names of people I am walking for on them. I will wear the ribbons all 3 days of the walk. If you would like me to wear someones name please let me know.
If you can donate please go to my 3day web page at:

http://08.the3day.org/goto/SusanAMoritz
If you would prefer to send in a check please down load the form (you can find this form on that same page) and add my name participation# and San Francisco to the memo line. My participation # is 2069661. Please mail it before August 1st, and if you donate online please before September 1st.
Thank you for your support. And remember every penny helps.

So I am asking anyone who feels the urge if you could send me a letter to keep me encouraged.. maybe even verses would be great. I am expecting to be tired, and I know if I get a letter from my family and friends reminding me that you are praying for me. I know it will be what will keep me going.

Here is the address if would like it.

My training

So I received another donation! It is helps to know that there are people out there that are so willing to help a great cause. my training walk on Saturday was good I walked 4 miles in about an hour. I am going for a walk tonight and tomorrow I am going to attempt the state park in Benicia. Also one of my friends signed up to participate in this as well.

The Walk

Right now I am wrighting a blog about the walk I am doing in September

Here is the letter I am sending out to explain.

I signed up to walk in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day walk for the Cure event!! Yes 20 miles a day for 3 days. Me! The person who does not like to exercise!September 5-7, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.I've agreed to raise at least $2,200 in donations. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? All donations would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train. You can donate online at http://08.the3day.org/goto/SusanAMoritz or you can also call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone. I decided to take on this challenge in honor of my sister who was diagnosed at the age of 17 and is a survivor. According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, more than 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.Thank you in advance for your generosity!P.S. Ask your employer if they will double your donation through a matching gift program.

About me

Praise God I get to serve in the nursery, GTC (Generations to Come), CORE (Christ our Redeemer Exalted), and in the summer the Volleyball ministry. I am a Para Educator for the school district.
